I would like to make a rebuttal on my own predictions article I wrote last week. It is presently being reported that the Detroit Pistons are about to trade Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess to the Denver Nuggets for Allen Iverson.
If this trade happens, I want to be the first to go on record to say that the Pistons just became the best team in the Eastern Conference. I think Detroit is a perfect fit for Iverson, and I think they are going to be tough to beat in the playoffs with him on that roster.
I am not sure what I think about Denver now, either. I think this trade made a lot of sense for them, and I suspect they will be a lot more competitive with a real point guard. But the West is still very tough, and I don't think this trade would guarantee them a spot in the playoffs, but I do think it gives them a better chance of making the postseason.
My revised prediction: The Pistons will make the Finals. And the Jazz will beat them in 7 games. Oh yeah, by the way, I decided the Jazz will make it to the Finals too.

I dunno B, I think the Pistons will self destruct and the Nuggets will be tough to beat. I don't see Rip and Iverson playing nicely with each other. But then again, it will be interesting to see AI work with fellow bad boy Rasheed.
I guess I just feel mediocre about this trade. I don't see any big improvements happening for either team, but my gut tells me the Nuggets got the better end of the deal.
Go Jazz. I pray for Williams' ankle.
