the hunt

If you've seen "The Devil Wears Prada" then you know from Miranda Priestly's monologue that what goes down the runway eventually trickles down and lands on the back of the poor and lowly college student {aka yours truly}. Part of the thrill for the fashion-obsessed is dissecting said runway shows and then finding it all cheaper and locally. The thrill of the hunt will keep you coming back for more season after season, and it will keep you ahead of the trendy pack.

Lets take a fashion favorite like Marc Jacobs. If you're like me, you've probably questioned whether or not Marc Jacobs was serious with some of the weirdness he sends down his runways. It's not just M.J. that pulls this, it's everyone. This is where the hunt begins.

You pick what you love about a look:
*black + white sneakers
*floaty A-line skirts
*striped blouse
*gladiator sandal

Then when you find something similar (and cheaper)you can recreate a designer's idea for yourself. See below:

Blouse: Free People
Skirts: Forever 21
Sneakers: Keds
Sandals: Gap

Happy Hunting!
