Don’t worry, we kept these projects simple because who has time or money to spend on crafts when there’s work, school and dating to be done.
1. Light above the rest - We found this simple lamp shade at Walmart and taped off our design using painters tape. Using a small craft sponge roller, we painted between the lines. We also a bought a paper lantern set that included a light cord for $5. Ditching the lantern, we rigged up our shade using the light cord, creating a perfect light for reading. 2. Sure, these frames are a little corky (pun intended) but that’s what we like about them. We bought our frames at a dollar store and replaced the glass with cork that comes in a roll at Walmart for $8. We then pinned up some of our favorite images and sat back and admired our creation. And after we did that we took those images off and put up new ones without leaving finger prints on the glass. 3. Don’t draw the shades, paint them – These bamboo shades have been begging to be altered. Using painters tape we taped out two lines that we filled in with paint using a craft sponge roller. Of course we did two very boring lines, but the possibilities are endless, we just didn’t want to show off. 4. As we were placing an iron-on onto t-shirts one night we accidentally ironed one onto a pillow and it created a most exciting throw pillow. Download our seagull image at www.thesquarelife.com or scan one of your own onto your computer and print it out onto an iron-on transfer. Use the instructions from the packet of iron-on transfers to complete. We found that it was easier to iron the image towards the middle of the pillow where there was more support.
