Ever since Jed Millar was young, he dreamed of a job that would bring him excitement, and challenge both his physical and mental strength. Surprisingly, a fireman isn’t what he had always dreamed of becoming. Jed claims, “I was just looking for some type of action in life. I found it, I think, as a fireman.”
It was a long haul of classes and physical training to land this ideal job. Graduating from the grueling Utah Fire and Rescue Academy, through UVSC, Jed proved himself capable, landing a coveted position with the Orem Fire Department.
The job is intense, but Jed’s personality is easy-going, genuine and friendly. Immediately after meeting him you’ll be rolling on the floor with laughter. His blunt humor and likeable character make people want to be around him.
Besides working ten 24-hour shifts a month with the fire department, Jed squeezes in a number of side jobs and hobbies; playing guitar, rock climbing, running, and toying with his successful acting career.
Among many opportunities to act, Jed played a lead role in the nationally televised CBS movie, “A Test of Love.” (later renamed to "Breach of Trust")He can also be seen in several seminary videos.
Recently, Jed was called to try-out for a role in “I Will Always Know What You Did Last Summer.” Jed turned it down saying that the script was the dumbest thing he had ever read. Despite having the resources and experience needed to launch an acting career, Jed has chosen to pursue other passions.
When asked if he could think of a more ideal job, besides being a fireman, Jed responded, “I wouldn’t mind flying the space shuttle. That would be pretty cool, but other than that, no.”
