Good Report

Elizabethan Report is ready to rock Provo.

Elizabethan Report has thrown aside that “too cool” attitude permeating music venues that prohibit good times and has thrown itself passionately into performing. Thank goodness—we need to get up and dance around here! Elizabethan Report, nostalgic for ’90s Ska, is giving us that chance. Lead singer Tony Petersen says, “I just want people to have a really fun time when they come to our shows. I get a kick out of seeing everyone laughing and moving their bodies. It’s a real give and take. We’re trying to have a sincere relationship with the audience.”
Elizabethan Report has experienced swift success since forming in the spring of 2004. They have made a concerted effort this past year to put themselves out there and have enjoyed the fruit of their labors, performing at the New American Music Union summer festival presented by AE Outfitters in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. The lineup included Bob Dylan, Gnarls Barkley, and hip college bands from across the country. They credit their sudden success to a balance between hard work and good karma. More recently, they shared their spark and energy at the weekend-long SEGO festival. “That show was a very special show to me. It felt so good. It was great seeing the audience react the way they did,” Peterson enthuses.
The members of the band bring their own aesthetic to their collaborative work. Individual interests range from Funk, New Wave, Indie, and Hip Hop. “Everyone brings their own styles and sensibilities to the table, and as a result, it enriches the music” says Petersen. They are a band of performers who exude confidence and have fun sharing it with everyone who gets a kick out of dancing, laughing, and having a good time.
We’re lucky to have them here in Provo and wish them success as they tour this month. Take a listen to their songs at myspace.com/elizabethanreport and catch video of their live show at ae.com.
