Although we are familiar with organized sports, we aren't limited to them.
GET INLINE
In Line With the TRB, better known as Team Rollerblade, is making the
comeback of all comebacks. If you’re not a member, it’s easy to join. It’s
simple as renting the 90’s classic movie Airborn then hitting up your local
thrift shop for some neon inline boots.
Inlining has gotten a bad rap the last decade or so, it seems that controlling your pace in roaming
boot form came secondary to board sports.
It’s time for the revival. Ironically hip is to rollerblading as vintage is to clothing.
Rollerblading had it’s hay day, and just like any forward
thinking trend it faded with its era. Generation next should reconsider the sport as once again dignified and cool. You can roll forward, backward, spin, jump, and mingle with other crosswalk passerby’s without missing a beat.
Why skate when youcan blade? Take it for what it’s worth, you can rock your walk man, get your heart rate up, and brake with your heels while on wheels. - T.D.
CATCH ME RIDIN' DIRTY
Nothing beats mid-air bunny hops down the boulevard—it's simple, fun, and
makes a head turn. BMXing is back! Why do you think Beijing wanted it for the Olympics? Now, sure
you can purchase a bike at the local cyclery, but one of life's biggest
accomplishments is doing something yourself. Building a BMX bike is at top of
that list. It's sweet because you can be creative. Part of the BMX building
process is to gather miscellaneous parts onto one frame. Once you have
tightened every last nut, bolt, and peg; you will be a proud rider of bicycle
motocross. - A.G.
FIX IT
Sick of pedaling backwards? Tired of doing anything with
your hands besides holding onto the bars? Have you always dreamed of mandatory leg movement while on a bicycle? Well look no further than a fixed gear.
It’s likely you’ve noticed the influx of custom bikes that
have no coasting ability around town and particularly gathered in front of venues when bands are in town. The fixed gear bike perks of simplicity, low maintenance, low weight, and the ability to flaunt your custom image are all attractors for bikers of all levels.

Adorn your fixie with a gold chain. You can be so independent with those ebay bought red rims. Drive the hippest of the hip mad with jealousy when you blind them with your flourescent grip tape.
The fixed wheel is no longer soley for track racers or bike
messengers, but for any who are looking to create not only an image, but make a statement, “I don’t need brakes to be safe.” Breaks and free wheels are out the window. Get fixed. - T.D.
FROM DOGTOWN TO P-TOWN
A combination of a downhill longboard, and vintage surfboard—the best of both worlds. Back in grade school you probably all owned of a neon fishtail or banana board. Now, dig it out of your garage, pick one up at D.I. or salvage one off the Internet. Though downhill bombing is a ticket, who's to say you can't still kill it in the skate park? Just cruise the curves, carve the concrete, and shred like you're a Z-boy. - A.G.
