Emma & JedÂ
Emma and Jed’s wedding was all about colors and culture. Emma had lived in Hawaii, so she incorporated Hawaiian and Asian influences into her décor for a classy, tropical feel.
 Â
“I wanted a wedding that included my favorite colors and the cultures I love,†Emma says.
 Â
Emma also has a thing for all things vintage, so she added that into the mix with a self-designed vintage style dress made by Nancy Barrus Couture in Provo and real antique vases from Man on the Moon Antiques in Provo.
   Â
Emma’s advice for brides to be: “In the midst of your wedding planning, take time to think through why you are marrying your fiancé. After the wedding is over, all you have is him. I was lucky to have picked a great guy.â€
Parasols were shipped from Thailand for each bridesmaid. Handmade bowties were made for all the boys. The couple asked their artistic family members and friends to paint pictures to display at their reception.
The bride designed the cake herself, and Dick’s Market in Bountiful pulled it off for under $200. The couple’s wedding was a marriage of vintage, Hawaiian, Asian and Victorian themes.
Megan & HoustonÂ
Megan and Houston met in a Plein Air painting class—and it was picture perfect from then on. Both Megan and Houston are earning their bachelor’s degrees in Illustration at BYU, so they fittingly incorporated art into their wedding. Megan and Houston worked on an illustration together and made prints of it as wedding favors for all of their guests.
 Â
Megan’s advice to future brides: “Have fun with the planning process. Don’t stress out too much. It’s more important to be happy on your wedding day than to be worrying about something that didn’t turn out perfectly.â€
Chocolate mousse cake with cream frosting and white chocolate curls was one of three cakes served at the reception. The couple made a swift getaway in an Excalibur based on an 1928 Mercedes Benz.
An antique theme was caried throughout with muted colors, live birds in antique cages, and antique centerpieces found at consignment stores. The couple also carved an illustration out of a linoleum block and made prints for their reception guests
Courtney & MichaelÂ
Courtney and Michael’s wedding day was anything but conventional. Instead of wearing a tux, Michael wore a light suit. Instead of bridesmaids, Courtney and Michael had their brothers wear seersucker suits, and they were the wedding party. Their reception food consisted of flavored lemonades, strawberry soup, cheesecake lollipops, and more. Â
Courtney’s tip for brides to be: “Find a good photographer who will take the types of pictures you want. A picture, after all, is worth a thousand words! Also, when choosing vendors, make sure they hear what you are saying and not trying to push their own agenda.â€
The couple chose a carrot cake as their wedding cake. The groom with his new brothers-in-law. The reception was held at the Woodend Mansion in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Centerpieces were potted plants—mostly herbs and little apothecary jars—filled with personalized blue, white, and green M&Ms and were given as favors.
