I love the magazine! Its
I love the magazine! Its really entertaining and every issue I see at least one of my friends....however I wish it would get out and expand its horizon and appeal to the whole utah valley population meaning....not everyone there is mormon. I'm LDS myself but for example I like to wear a 2 piece bikini for summer, I hate the tan lines, that doesnt make me a bad mormon does it! I go to school up in salt lake therefore I have a lot of friends who are not mormon who think the magazine has an extraordinary look but once they see articles like those they are like: "who cares is just a swim suit." And it gives back the stereotype that utah valley is the judging community everyone believes it is... I love provo and I want everyone to believe, mormon or not, that it is indeed an accepting place!
Well "anonymous" I think you
Well "anonymous" I think you have missed the point of "Square" altogether. No one is saying that you are a "Bad Mormon" if you wear a 2 piece bikini. In fact I bet most of the LDS community could care less what you do. However, their is a standard that doens't change based on whether you live in SLC or Utah County. People can stereotype all they want, but the fact remains that Square provides content that is good CLEAN and fun. So, while you are parading your body as the purpose of your swim suit. Other girls in SLC and Utah County will be wearing a swim suit to swim and not as a way to show some skin. Oh, and by the way, as this photoshoot shows, we'll be just as attractive modestly... ;)
Bethany, your response to
Bethany, your response to "anonymous" was very passive aggressive. Don't say that the LDS community "could care less what you do" (by the way, the proper phrase is "couldn't care less") if you're just going to follow that statement up by saying something about her "parading [her} body." That's insulting and passive aggressive. Just come right out and say that you don't think it's modest for her to wear a 2 piece bathing suit.
And if you're so concerned with modesty, why doesn't this guy have a shirt on? It seems like a double standard to me. And why does the girl have her hand placed between the guy's legs while he is nuzzling her neck in one photo?
If you're going to judge others for wearing 2 piece bathing suits and not acting in the way that YOU deem modest, then you need to make sure that you, your magazine, and your photos are without blame first.
