The quest for the Holy Grail… or the best hamburger in Utah County.
I set sail to East Bay as my first destination in this landmark journey. Seeking inner burger peace and harmony and a joint to be able to call my own, I came to Green Hollow Catering, which is just alongside the pro shop at the golf course in East Bay.
I know what you’re thinking though, golf course hamburger!!?? Well let me tell you what it made me think.
I ordered the double cheeseburger, without cheese? Yes, without cheese. The burger comes stacked high with anything you want, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, ketchup, and mustard. I opted for tomatoes, lettuce and ketchup. The burger is grilled and served with Lays Wavy potato chips. At first glance, it looked really good. It was on a bun that was about two steps above the normal run of the mill hamburger bun. It was bakery made and didn’t feel cheap. The burger was juicy and had a great flavor, the patties were thick enough that one would have done the trick, but two certainly was a treat. The tomato and lettuce were fresh and added to an already great hamburger. And the chips, made you feel like you were at home.
Overall, I give the burger an A-. That’s right, an A-. For presentation, taste, quality, and the desire to go back; Green Hollow catering at the East Bay golf course gets an A-. And, their Gatorade mix in the fountain is one of the best I’ve had. I’ll be back, and not for the golf.Â
The things I love about burgers are definitely different than the things you love about burgers, but as we take this journey together, we can find similarities and common ground. We can find a new love for hamburgers in Utah County, because we all need a go to place where our favorite burger is served. I’m just here to help you find it.
