Leave the party with less buns than you brought.

It’s Summer again and you know what that means? It’s Barbeque time. However, since you probably spent all Spring working on your 6-pack abs, it would be a shame to turn your tummy into a keg. These 5 tips should help keep you looking like Rocky Balboa as opposed to Al Roker come barbeque time.

Drink water with your meal. Doctors recommend drinking eight 8-oz glasses of water daily. Soda is full of sugar, and is essentially empty calories.

Although it is rewarding to consume your body weight in steak, try eating a smaller portion along with some veggies.

Eat more fruits as opposed to just drinking fruit juice. Fruit juice tends to have a lot of sugar and preservatives.

Eat plenty of salad but don’t go overboard on the dressing. Dressing has a lot of calories and can quickly turn your healthy salad into a nightmare for your waistline.

Don’t forget the gym. It’s a great way to burn excess calories. If you don’t have gym access, start a walking program. Not only will this keep you lean, it will also keep your heart healthy.
